Kat
Co-Founder
When she isn’t practicing medicine as an orthopedic surgeon, Kat is exploring Camiguin’s underwater world. As the primary visionary behind Scuba Spuds, she turned her dream of building an authentic, community-driven island dive center into reality. Originally from Jolo, Sulu, Kat is a patient macro enthusiast with a surgical eye for the ocean’s tiniest critters. She is also the creative mind behind our iconic potato logo—a playful nod to a favorite travel keepsake, which ensures every guest enjoys a relaxed, safe, and authentic diving experience.
Rutger
Advisor
Based in Belgium, Rutger’s deep passion for coral reefs and marine conservation was sparked during his six years of living and traveling in Australia. Captivated by the ocean, he serves as a trusted advisor to Scuba Spuds, offering creative design insight and a practical, problem-solving perspective. His love for the sea and all its wonderful critters drives his vision to ensure Scuba Spuds provides a well-organized, high-quality experience for every visiting diver.

PADI Dive Instructor (Freelance)
A local of Camiguin, Cena has been a professional PADI Instructor since 2010. His mastery of the sport and deep passion for education shine through the moment you step into the water with him. Cena strikes the perfect balance of being warm and encouraging, while strictly adhering to the highest levels of dive safety. As a lifelong ocean lover, he takes immense pride in helping students unlock the beauty of the underwater world and achieve their personal goals—whether they are finning for the very first time or training to become a Divemaster.
Don Don
Expert Macro Spotter / Divemaster
Don Don is an exceptionally experienced, eagle-eyed local divemaster with over 15 years of guiding under his belt. He has earned legendary status on the island for his critter-spotting abilities, whether it is a rare frogfish or microscopic nudibranch . He is passionate about keeping you safe underwater and ensuring you see something mind-blowing on every dive!
Rex
Boat Captain
Rex is the trusted helm of our dive boat, As a local captain who grew up on the island, he has plentiful experience navigating the beautiful waters of Camiguin. Whether he is expertly positioning the boat or tracking your bubbles from the surface, Rex ensures your time above water is just as safe and seamless as your time below.
Richard
Muscle Master
Richard brings incredible energy and some serious muscle to the team. A former Camiguin bodybuilding champion with many years of experience working in the local diving industry, Richard takes all the physical strain out of your dive day. You can rest assured that the logistics and equipment are in the best possible hands for a flawless day of diving.
